Last week, I attended my aunt’s mother’s funeral. I spoke with my cousin, who commented on how fortunate she was to have two wonderful grandmothers. On the way home, I thought about the grandmother that we shared, my Babci. I remembered all the things that she did to make holidays special, and how many of those things were carried on to her great grandchildren. She died over 20 years ago and I realized that I never thanked her for all that she did. From the crossword puzzles and chicken soup, to the special New Year’s Eve, Christmas Eve and Thanksgivings.
If you are fortunate enough to still have those that made your childhood traditions and holidays special, remember to thank them this Christmas.
So this week, we made cookies, watched some shows together as a family and tonight, Connor and I made a Christmas craft. I found some clear glass ornaments and we spent the afternoon decorating. My older son was away at a swim meet (and he really isn’t into craft/art related things).
Some were painted inside with thinned acrylic paint, alcohol inked, macramé or sequins, and some filled. Just a creative time …together.
My 3 favorite that I did were some of my favorite Christmas characters from the old shows, the Grinch, Heat Miser and Freeze Miser.
This will be my last post before Christmas- Hope you and your family are filled with joy and will make happy memories to last a lifetime!
